Gerries Yard – Peterhead Harbour
We are proud to say we will soon have the largest dehumidification factory in Scotland. Our new facility is currently being built at Gerries Yard, Seagate in Peterhead, and will replace our old factory there. All-new state of the art drying machinery is contained within a 24,000 square feet/2230 square metre plant. We have our own Ozone System and both Open and Closed Loop drying facilities which allow us to dehydrate an incredibly wide range of natural foodstuffs to the most demanding EU standards. The new facility will allow Mapco to double current production levels.
24 Seagate – Unit 1
Unit 1 is where we house our wet fish processing plant, the start of the production process for our fish. It’s important to be close to a regular and reliable source of fresh, top-quality fish. Which is why we located in Peterhead, in the fishing heartlands of North East Scotland. Fish from the North Sea is landed at Peterhead harbour, processed and any fish surplus to requirements is passed to us for drying.
26 Seagate – Unit 2
This is our 150 square metre/1600 square feet Cold Room with our Freezing facility. We have the most modern Cryogenis freezing machinery, allowing us to IQF various food items in minutes. Again it adds to the range of products which we can offer and is at the heart of our ability to supply fresh produce.
28 Seagate – Unit 3
Innovation is what we are all about, and Unit 3 is where we push the Research and Development boundaries. Mapco Group’s future success will be decided by the practical applications we can come up with here. We have mastered Closed Loop drying of Haddock and Cod. Now we are testing a range of healthy foodstuffs including carrots, parsnips and potatoes through to cheese and even chicken. Oily fish like Salmon and pelagics like Mackerel are of particular interest.

Here we have our Head Office and administrative centre, both for Mapco Group and for the Mapco Foundation.
